Three-dimensional transport-induced chemistry on temperate sub-Neptune K2-18b, Part II: the combined effects of atmospheric dynamics and chemical reactions
Part II of a series on atmospheric dynamics and transport-induced chemistry on K2-18b. In this paper, we presented a detailed analysis of the 3D chemical structures on K2-18b, and by comparing our synthetic transmission to JWST observations, we found that K2-18b’s interior can be interpreted as a gas-rich mini-Neptune with ~180x solar metallicity. We also constrained a 1D Kzz profile for further use in the 1D models.
